Lovely English Garden Style Flowers

The English Garden style, also known as the English Cottage style, refers to a type of flower arrangement that contains blooms that look like they just came out of a blooming summer English garden. The key element being that all of the florals look like they were grown together in nature and are, of course, all from the same season.

Traits of the English Garden Style

An abundance of flourishing blossoms in a variety of different shapes, colors, and textures is an important component of this particular style. More important, though, is the look, which should appear as if these flowers were all growing together in some rural countryside garden and were all snipped and placed into a decorative urn or vase. Without fuss or muss, the flowers should hang naturally together and not look at all forced together.

Other important traits include larger blooms such as English roses, dahlias, and peonies along with a mix of other smaller florals and vertical features such as foxglove, delphinium, stock, and larkspur. Also, an overflow of greenery, more so than typically seen in bouquets in another characteristic. Like walking through an overgrown garden, the English Garden style arrangement is meant to transport you there.
