At Ah Sam Florist, there are lots of reasons we love the holidays, but at the top of the list? Gifts.

No, we don’t mean the ones we receive, or even the ones we hurriedly buy for our family and friends to be unwrapped Christmas morning. We mean the kind of gift that Giving Tuesday celebrates in its global effort to promote charity. We see Tuesday, November 28 – and every day, for that matter – as a wonderful opportunity to support the local institutions that mean the most to us. And that’s a gift.

Our Lend a Hand program is a wonderful place to start your donating efforts this year. Simply select your floral item from our online gallery (something like our Assorted Garden Roses Bouquet below makes a beautiful gift) and hit the Lend a Hand drop down menu. A list of participating organizations will appear. Choose your fave, and we’ll make a donation to your institution of choice.

The holiday season is enriched by donating our time, energy and resources to those institutions who do the most for our San Mateo community. Our list of deserving organizations is long, reflecting just how many make a meaningful difference and need our support.  Lend a Hand is one way to celebrate Giving Tuesday and to be in the true spirit of the holidays.
