Looking around, we can easily see many opportunities to help someone out, to brighten a day, or to bring a smile. That’s what Random Acts of Kindness Day – celebrated on February 17th – is all about. At Ah Sam Florist, we are honored to participate in local random acts of kindness regularly. As this fun and inspirational day of kindness approaches, we especially look forward to helping you spread the joy around San Mateo.

There are many ways to show kindness to those around you. Start right where you are, and think about the people that make your day a little brighter on a daily basis. You may want to bring treats on your morning dog walk to hand out to your neighbors (don’t forget doggy treats for your four-legged friends). You can buy a roll of quarters and refill parking meters, or send a lovely bouquet of flowers to your child’s teacher just to say, “I appreciate you.” Whether you plan out a few acts of kindness ahead of time – like passing out cheerful balloons to passers-by – or simply look for opportunities as you go throughout your day – like picking up trash or paying for the next person in the drive-thru line – no kindness goes unnoticed. Many times, it will be the beginning of a chain reaction that can be far-reaching.
